“For the enemy has persecuted my soul, he has crushed my life to the ground; he has made me dwell in dark places, like those who have long been dead. Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed with me; my heart is appalled within me.”
Psalm 143:3-4

If you have ever experienced any form of sexual abuse, you may closely identify with Psalm 145:3-4. In this Psalm, David talks about how it feels to be crushed down, so low, that your soul is in a dark place; as if you were dead.
A person who has experienced sexual abuse struggles with vast internal pain. Healing involves facing the devastating abuse, and releasing the pain, so the heart can heal. The pain feels overwhelming, but must be faced and released. Buried pain from abuse is a combination of toxic emotions and deadly lies from the enemy. This booklet is for anyone who is suffering from sexual abuse or for anyone who feels called to minister to those who are suffering from abuse.

What is Sexual Abuse?
Sexual abuse is a violation that is in anyway disrespectful through inappropriate touch, gestures, words, or suggestive movements. Any gesture that makes a person feel shame is a violation and therefore sexual abuse.
Sexual abuse wounds you deep at the core of your identity. This type of abuse causes you to feel like your life is in a constant state of crisis. If you no longer know your true identity according to who God says you are, then you are in a crisis. Abuse has redefined who you are, which is the work of Satan; your enemy. To stop this crisis you must be restored back to your true identity, and embrace who God created you to be.
