Forgiveness Workbook

$0.00

Forgiveness means letting go of something that someone “owes” you. Forgiveness is the only way to get freedom from a past hurt. The Bible compares forgiving people to releasing them from a legal debt. When a debt is incurred or someone trespasses on your personal property, they owe you. You have on the “books” of your soul an accounting of who owes you and what they owe. Maybe your mother controlled you and owes you to make it right. Or, your father dominated you and owes you to make it right. You don’t say you owe me out loud; you say it in your attitude and lack of respect.

Forgive, if you have anything against anyone. Mark 11:25
Forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you. Ephesians 4:32

You may think that if you confront them enough, they will see their wrong, and make it right. If you find the right way to say it they will understand what they have done. You may feel that if you convince enough people of how bad you’ve had it, and how bad your parents were, that will somehow clear the account and you will feel better. You could “take it out” on someone else, repeating the sin committed towards you, as though you feel the right to even the score. Or, you could continue to try and convince those who have hurt you, of how horrible they are. You may think that if they just understood, they would make it better. They would pay what they owe.
